The Oliver Twist, was formerly the Hercules Tavern and dates back to 1888. It was advertised as the smallest pub in Town and closed on the 22.08.1941 for WWll, reopenning on the 25.08.1945. It was renamed the Oliver Twist in 1977 after an extension into adjoining premises. | | The pub sits just outside the old Town walls, and within a two minute walk from the Market place. It claims to have two ghosts, an old lady that sits in the corner of the old pub and a man who walks though the pool room. |
